Assistance at Mass

The laity can assist in various ways during the Mass whether as altar servers, lectors, ushers, or ministers of communion. To find out how you can get involved speak to Fr. Jim or David.

Catholic Charities

In cooperation with the Diocese of Tulsa, Catholic Charities offers material help to those in need. The CC Helping Center is open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9AM to 2PM. To find out more information call 918-647-2220.

Reception of the Sacraments

  • Reconciliation: before every Mass or by appointment.
  • Marriage: contact Fr. Jim at least six months prior to the marriage date in order to complete the Marriage preparation requirements.
  • Baptism: parents must schedule baptism after attending the baptismal class. Contact Fr. Jim to schedule this class.
  • Ministry to the sick: if someone in your family is in the hospital, a nursing facility, or home bound, call Fr. Jim so that someone can visit them.

Religious Education

Our Religious Education is based on the following foundations:

1. Parents have the primary responsible to train their children in the faith. Our job is to supplement that effort (not replace it), enabling and encouraging parents by providing support for home catechesis, while using the weekly classes to inspire young people to greater faith.

2. To promote knowledge of Scripture. Knowledge of the Bible, said Saint Jerome, is knowledge of Jesus Christ.  Students of all ages should become familiar with Holy Scripture in story and verse so that they will learn how it ties in with God’s call in their lives.

3. To teach and encourage prayer life, both formal and informal.

4. To teach, on an age-appropriate basis, basic and advanced doctrine, morals and ethics, and Christian attitudes so that our students can master the challenge of loving God and neighbor. To learn how God’s commandments are to be lived in a Christian life of grace.

5. Preparation for the Sacraments.  These important moments when lives intersect with the saving grace of Jesus Christ require special training: Baptism, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation, Matrimony, Anointing of the Sick and Holy Orders.  All Catholics should understand and live a sacramental life.

6. To help all our people live in an authentic Catholic Christian culture and community.  We believe that all of us are parts of the Body of Christ, and we are at our best when we experience our faith together. Sharing our experiences, our gifts, our needs, and our concerns and while supporting one another.

7. By supporting life-time learning. Catechesis is not only for the young, but for all. We have new programs on the way to enable every member of our faith community – and newcomers – to deepen their knowledge and spirituality, trusting in the Holy Spirit to enlighten our hearts and minds to God’s path for each of us.

8. By welcoming seekers of God into our midst. Our RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) and related Sacramental Prep (RCIC) programs offer concentrated and effective classes to help newcomers understand Catholic teaching, history and culture, so as to make informed choices on Church membership.

9. To encourage all members to follow the Way of the Cross, including the performance of Spiritual and Corporal Works of Mercy; to be Intentional Disciples of Jesus by reaching out to the sick, the poor, the marginalized, and most especially the un-churched.

If you wish to know more, or to enroll yourself or your children in any of our programs, please contact David Jones, Director of Religious Education, through the Parish Office.
